25.6 Archivista printer with macOS

With the Apple operating system, the Archivista printer is set up with CUPS. First, the CUPS web interface must be activated in the terminal with sudo cupsctl WebInterface=yes. After that the web interface has to be called in a browser with http://localhost:631.

A new printer can be added under 'Administration' and 'Add Printer'. Select 'HTTP' as protocol:

Now call up the IP address of the ArchivistaBox. In the example below, this is the address 192.168.0.233. Replace this address with the address with which your ArchivistaBox is running. Then press 'Continue

Set the name. Here you have to specify the database or database scan definition. The default database is 'archivista'. Activate 'Share This Printer' Click 'Continue' again.

Nün you will need a postscript description file. You are welcome to use the file 'archivista.ppd'. You can get this file zipped at archivista.ch/en/archivista.zip.

You must confirm the default settings to complete.

The virtual printer driver for the ArchivistaBox is now set up and can be called from any application.
